Sourdough Hawaiian Rolls

Ingredients
  

  • 5 cups Organic All purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Pineapple Juice
  • 1/2 cup milk Coconut or Almond milk is fine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup Active Sourdough starter
  • 1/4 cup salted butter softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
Egg Wash
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp water

Equipment

  • 1 Stand Mixer
  • 1 9x13 dish
  • 1 Bench Scraper
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons

Method
 

  1. Combine all ingredients in a stand mixer with the dough hook attachment.
  2. Mix on lowest speed for 10 minutes or until the dough is smooth and pulling away from the sides.
  3. Form dough into a ball shape and cover with plastic wrap and a tea towel.
  4. Let it rise overnight or for 8-12 hours.
  5. Cut dough into 18 rolls and shape them.
  6. Put all rolls into a greased 9 x 13 pan.
  7. Do a second rise for 1-4 hours or until the rolls double in size.
  8. After the dough has doubled in size, brush with the egg wash and bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 375 degrees.
